  • " After all these moaning posts, I thought I'd come and point out the correct ways to play the mage class.


    In PvP:


    * If you encounter an opponent who you may not be able to defeat (such as a Paladin, Warrior, Warlock, Priest, Shaman or Hunter), DOUBLE sheep them because the first one will be broken, then escape using your superior cc and teleportation abilities.


    * Rogues and druids are the exception to the rule. Blizzard knows that we can't sheep and run from invisible or sheep-immune classes, which is why they are bringing back invisibility. We can simply hide from them. In the current game though, you can try to outrun/blink vs the moonfire spamming druid, ditto vs the rogue who hopefully didn't use crippling poison as well as draining half your hp in 2 hits.


    * DISORIENTATE your opponent by throwing portals in front of him. Works best when there are three of you, as the enemy will be frozen in confusion should there be a portal to all three capital cities in front of him.


    * CONJURE food & water for your allies. Stay in a relatively safe area and advertise to your allies that they can open trade for food/water. FULFIL your ROLE!


    * DO use mana shield as much as possible. You're not going to be dealing any real damage thanks to resists, so it's perfectly fine to go oom after using two manashields. If you live, you can make more water and food for your allies.


    * DO act as bait. Though they may not admit it, other people are all too aware of our current issues and they love the thrill of hunting the weak (although you should not be weak after reading this guide). Mount up and run to and fro. You can expect to be chased eventually. Assuming your allies have enough food and water to get by, they can reach the game objctive whilst you get chased. For added style, dismount, sheep the first chaser and then turn into a block of ice (ice spec'd mages only). The enemy will lose valuable seconds chipping away at you.


    * DO use IAE as much as possible. Charge into the enemy, and hit each of them for 200 damage per tick! There's no way that they will silence, stun, root, fear, charm, disorientate, or outright kill you in the time it takes such a powerful spell to drain 4k-5k hp's off each and every one of them. If you don't have IAE, even better! The spell is more than functional without the 5 talent points needed to change it from1.5sec cast to instant. In fact, if it isn't improved, your mana will last even longer thanks to the bonus of an interruptable cast time!


    * DO use Blizzard. A channelled spell which drains 20% of your mana is ideal for PvP, where standing still is the key to victory. If the enemy walks away from your AE, simply recast it. Especially effective if you don't have improved blizzard, who needs a snare when casting such a powerful spell?


    * If all else fails, YOU can teleport to any major city. Make the most of your abilities!



    In PvE:


    * SHEEP critters. Your purpose in WoW is to take as many screenshots as possible of a sheep labelled as "Snake", "Toad", "Cow" etc.


    * DO conjure food and water for everyone. In MC, YOU get to conjure hundreds of water, 4 bottles at a time! What more could any class ask for? If you don't know how to do this it's easy - just press your conjure water icon until out of mana, then drink a bottle, and when you have full mana repeat the process.


    * After conjuring 400 water, DO cast Arcane Brilliance on each group. Each cast will use 3500 mana, meaning you get to use your own conjured water before casting another buff, meaning you will probably want to conjure even more water to compensate. The mage is a very versatile class!


    * Do NOT sheep allied players - it doesn't work.


    * DO melee mobs when they are close enough. It's the only way to get the most from your new epic purple staff. Mages THRIVE from DPS upgrades.


    * SHEEP the adds in instances. Everytime someone breaks the sheep, re-sheep it (unless it's the last mob, dur?). Keep doing this until the next pull - DAMAGE is NOT your role! Leave it to the rogues.


    * DO spec ice for end-game. Fire was only ever meant to help you get to 60. Once there, the fire resists in PvP combined with the fact that you will be fighting fire-based mobs in MC, make it all too obvious that you were meant to be an ice mage from the start. Embrace your new role! You could be just like Iceman!


    * DO NOT upgrade to heavy +damage gear in every slot just to try and "keep up" to the DPS other classes can do for free. The mana sacrificed could be put to better use - conjuring water and sheeping mobs.


    * DO summon a portal to all three major cities and the end of an instance. Give your allies the choice! It is your ROLE.

  • Kan godt lide den med at lave 3 portaler en til hver storby, for at forvirre modstanderen!


    Vi er overpowered, blizz brude nerfe mages. lol.

  • well.... det er ikke for sjov.... siden hunters osse blev altered, så er mage den svageste dmg dealer i instance, selvom vi skulle være primary dmg dealers.... og det er til fucking grin.... WLs, rogues og hunters giver bare mere dmg, sådan er det bare.... men efter druids bliver ændret her i 1.8, så skulle det være paladins tur, og så var det noget med priests vist nok og derefter mage, shammy(håber på nerf) og til aller sidst de skide pvp powered rogues...

  • mages kan også være damage dealer...MEN så skal SKAL du gå arcane power og enten fire eller frost...og miste det det man elsker ved frost eller fire -_-

    Speed nerf bliver ikke så slemt... Det er fx bare ik shanker der er den mest uber rare dagger længere, men Specters Blade etc... Den dagger der dropper fra Hakkar vil hellere ik være så vild som den er nu etc...
    Så er der Spinal Reaper der endelig kommer til sin ret (det siger vores warriors ihvertfald :) hvad ved jeg om 2 hånds våben o.O ... Er jo bare rogue)
    Så alt i alt nok ik så meget nerf som folk gør det til, men bare en lille omrokering i hvad der er own og hvad der er s0ke

  • det med NERF pga instant speed med daggers passer måske på nogle daggers/swords osv men der er jo en del af de førhen latterliggjorte våben der nu bliver en del mere brugbare. ingen tvivl om at nogen af de førhen mest eftertragtede våben har tabt noget effekt, men en del af de hurtige daggers og sværd har nu fået en kraftig forbedring, hvilket jeg syntes er helt fint

    Argh... Det er SÅ sjældent en lock overdealer en mages, så simpelt er det. Fordi folk har set 2-4 film hvor en warlock med top-gear, og target har SÅ mange debuffs som gør shadow bolt bedre, ja, så ser man lige pludselig en 5k crit. Men det sker 1 ud af 10.000... Det er bare rent held når det sker.

  • ...mages kan lave mere damage se nu:


    warrior i stand der giver vulna


    scorch 5 gange - 10% mere damage fra fire


    wsg buffs


    arcane power


    lock debuffs


    pyro CRIT


    fuldt fire damage gear/nye mage trinket


    ....du skal nok ramme de 6k bare der...hvis du så giver warrioren debuffen fra lbrs som giver 1000ext fire vuln...JA 6k kan ikke gøre det

  • nu er det bare det at næsten alle MOBs i high end har MEGA FR så alle mages er Cold eller water/food

  • det der er noget af det tommeste lort jeg ever har læst....


    ja mages er blevet nerfed inzane, bør jeg vide eftersom jeg har spillet kun mage siden us closed beta, men derfor er det der stadig slet ikke måden at spille på.


    F.eks. duel mod en hunter og rogue er det nemmeste som frost mage.
    hunteren skal man bare hurtigt ind på med frost nova-->CoC-->fireblast-->AE og foretage dette indtil han dør. Self med en ice barrier på.


    Rogue: se hvor han forsvinder så er det ikke så svært, men hvis han bliver væk må´du vente og bruge din ice block når han er der. Frost nova -->frostbolt-->CoC-->fire blast og blinke væk fra ham. Hvis han vanisher har du cold snap....

    Og nej jeg gider ikke skrive noget der er bedre, for det er hundredvis af sider, og forresten nice du beskriver talentspecs... og nævner den vigtige brug af counterspell

  • Nu skal i ikke sidde og lave konkurrencer med hvem der kan lave mest damage, mages. I almindelige instances som LBRS og UBRS osv er det dumt at være den sygeste fire mage med arcane power og hvad ved jeg. I tager for meget aggro, og derfor mister tankeren grebet på sin mission.
