RAM - Ganged eller Unganged ?

Det er så vidt jeg har forstået AMD's version af Nvidia's locked / unlocked arkitektur
som gør dig i stand til at bruge RAM i både Single channel og Dual Channel.

Det jeg har læst mig til (har ikke haft AMD siden Athlon X2)

Ganged = Dual channel hvor alle kerner udnytter ram 100%

Unganged = Single channel. hvor hver core får 1 ramklods tildelt.

Jeg kører unganged på mit setup i hvert fald. Da jeg indstillede BIOS i sin tid, var det den setting, jeg fandt frem til skulle være den bedste. Var i hvert fald tilfændet med en quad core cpu.

When running ganged mode your memory controller operates in 128-bit mode. This has the benefit of giving the whole CPU access to the entire available memory bandwidth. So if you are running one heavy application, this is the option you want to choose.

Unganged splits that 128-bit memory bus into 2 x 64-bit, so you basically have two memory buses. Because of this, Unganged is useful if you are a heavy multitasker, as you are packing 2 memory controllers effectively for them to access.

So basically, it's completely up to you. Either way it will be dual channel mode, so you won't have to worry about that. It just depends on what you do on your machine, and how you do it. Knowing that and relating it to the above information will clue you in to the best setting for you.
