Et lille uddrag fra artiklen:
Recently N.A.S.A. has published the plans of a new, updated spaceshuttle. N.A.S.A. hope, that the improvements of this new shuttle will make them able to reach Mars some day. However, they first expect the shuttle to be ready in 2018. And the project is so far, only on the drawingboard, but even here, it has it's major issues.
One of the leading sceintists, Howard Sanford, said the following:
"This new spaceshuttle will not be a revolution, but certianly more than just an ordinary step. Our goal with this shuttle, is to make it travel 30% faster then the current ones, making the dream of reaching Mars much more realistic. We are aware of some design issues, but those can be solved, no doubt. We are also playing with the thought of an intern fusionreactor in the engineroom, we know, that fusion power isn't well developed yet, but then we have to think in new orbits to ever move forward.
So, now we have set our bar for, how and when to reach Mars, so therefore we call this "Project Marsbar".
