QuoteDisplay MoreThats because most people dont know what they are talking about. I do tech support for a large ISP, and I can tell you that 99% of the crap people put up on how to evade realm downs or change the IP is pretty ridiculus.
For example, renewing your IP - the way Dynamic IPs work, you will tend to get the same IP back anyway, even if you release and renew it. People think Dynamic means it will change every time, but nope it wont.
Others will tell you to put your own MAC address in. Nope that wont work either, in most cases it will just stop your ISP from giving you an IP address. Comcast and Verizon are two providers that use MAC filtering to stop you from pulling multiple IPs.
Ive seen others say to simply put in your own IP address. Yet again another thing that simply wont work, absurd in that I dont think there is a situation where it could even possibly work.
There is usually going to be no easy way to change your IP address, and thus no easy way to avoid a realm down, at least with the major ISPs I have experiance with. Sure you may run into some small ISP that allows some of those things, but for the most part - no.
Du må desværre nøjes med denne her i stedet
Fortsat god weekend
